Earlier this year, Lydia contacted me, after seeing my booth at a previous bridal show in Maury County Park. She had a very specific (and unique!) vision for her invitation, as well as the day her and Daniel were planning. A medieval-theme wedding was in the works! And she was wanting the perfect invitation to let guests know that it was going to be a day to remember.
Here are some hints that got me going in the right direction: “My theme is medieval, but a traditional Christian ceremony. My main color is dark green with some dark and light purple. I also am using gold as an accent color. My main flower is dark purple and light green calla lilies, and I am using lots and lots of ivy. I would love if you could find a way to incorporate calla lilies, ivy, swords, and a cross.”
I love getting specifics like this from a bride! My first thought, was an old story book page, with the illustration around the text, incorporating her motifs. And when I told her that, she said she was a teacher, so how perfect!!
Here is the invitation and RSVP card I came up with for her special day…
We printed her design on our quality ivory linen card stock and accompanied the invitation and RSVP postcard with a gold envelope.
She sent this after receiving them in the mail – “I received the invitations in the mail yesterday. Everything looks great! Thank you so much for all your hard work. Everything turned out great and I love your artwork and design. I will be recommending you!” Always great to hear someone is pleased!! It’s so rewarding when you know you helped someone bring their thoughts about their wedding invitation to life!
Are you having a similarly themed wedding or event? See this (and more!) invitation in our shop.
She was also kind enough to let me know how the day went – “Our wedding went off really well! I’ve been getting comments from friends and family that it was the most romantic, beautiful, and unique wedding they had ever been to. Thank you so much for helping us with the first thing our guests would see for our special day.” And she included some wedding pictures for me to share with you! Take a look…
A big thank you to Lydia for sharing pictures from this special day! She looks so beautiful, and, more importantly, very happy!! Wishing her and Daniel all the best as the start their journey as husband and wife together!
