Christmas and other surrounding holidays is a catalyst for mailing cards, packages, and more. With the talk of downsizing the U.S. Postal Service, which is one of the largest employers for U.S. Veterans, by laying off employees and closing some post office locations, meaning what you mail will take longer to get from point A to point B.
As many of you know, I am a big fan of snail mail. An eCard is nothing in comparison to walking to your mailbox and finding an envelope with your name on it! So, hopefully, while you’re mailing out the last-minute Christmas cards or packages for long-distance family and friends, keep the U.S. Postal Service in mind. And just remember your purchase of stamps, which could seem like a lot of money for a little sticker, is giving people jobs, and probably a few veterans.
